Aliens Z Slot Machine

Aliens Z is a 5 reel, 50 pay line slot machine from 777igt that’s found in
online casinos.

Featuring a mash up of outer space creatures and set to a musical score from
E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, this game revolves around various alien stereotypes.

While nobody truly knows what life exists beyond our planet, many UFO
religions have speculated on different species. Their beliefs are supported by
accounts from those claiming to have been abducted by aliens.

Some of the alleged alien species include the greys, browns, humanoids,
reptoids, and mantises. While we’re not experts on UFO religion, Aliens Z
appears to feature some of these species on the reels.

Aliens Z Slot Machines Overview

Atmosphere / Background

The background looks like either a strange alien spaceship or planet, but
it’s hard to tell for sure. This isn’t to say that the background is ugly, but
it’s dark and lacks defining characteristics.

You’ll also see what looks like spider webs, although they could also
represent an outer space substance.

Different alien heads mark the pay line, Mega Jackpot, and lobby displays.
Oddly enough, the alien heads on the Mega Jackpot and lobby displays are used as
symbols in 777igt’s Aliens Ozone discussed later.

Overall, the background doesn’t enhance Aliens Z, but it does enough to
reflect the game’s theme.

Music and Sound Effects

The music comes from the John Williams composed song that plays during ET’s
famous Ride in the Sky scene, where Elliott rides his bike to escape police and
protect ET.

This gives Aliens Z some familiarity for those who’ve seen the 1982 Steven
Spielberg movie. But it also seems weird when considering that the background
feels nothing like E.T. the Extra Terrestrial.

Sound effects include gold coins bouncing off the reels during payouts,
dreamy and magical sounds following wins, and a movie projector noise when you
spin the reels.

The sound effects are a big disappointment since they’re generic and used in
other 777igt games.

Animations

Animations during winning payouts include: symbols moving towards and away
from the screen, symbols shaking from side to side, gold coins bouncing off the
reels and into your account, Big Win displays with balloons, and mini fireworks
shooting out of the scatter payout sign.

The same animations are featured in other 777igt slot machines, making this
another generic point of Aliens Z.

Aliens Z Pay Table and Graphics

Here are the symbols and payouts in Aliens Z:

Blue Alien Mega Jackpot

The blue alien triggers the Mega Jackpot when
appearing 5 times in an active pay line.

Baboon like Alien Minor Jackpot

Looking like a baboon with a long mouth,
this creature triggers the Minor Jackpot when landing 5 times in a line.

Long neck Alien Mini Jackpot

The long neck alien delivers the Mini Jackpot
when appearing 5 times in a line.

Grey Alien Wild

When many people think of aliens, they envision the small,
grey creatures with large heads. The grey alien substitutes for all other
symbols except the bonus, scatter, and jackpot icons. It also offers a 150 coin
payout when landing 5 times in a pay line.

Mantis Alien

The mantis alien is the highest paying regular symbol,
offering 200 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.

Angry Alien

With its mouth open and fangs bared, this creature delivers 150
coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.

Brown Alien

The brown alien offers 120 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and
12 for 3.

A

The A pays 100 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and 10 for 3.

K

This letter pays 80 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.

Q

The Q delivers 60 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.

J, 10

These symbols both pay 50 coins for 5 symbols, 20 for 4, and 10 for
3.

Grey Alien Close up Scatter

A close up shot of the grey alien’s face, this
symbol offers payouts when landing 3 or more times anywhere on the reels.
Scatter payouts include 100x 5 symbols, 30x 4 symbols, and 5x 3 symbols your
triggering bet.

Avatar like Alien Free Spins

Looking similar to the blue aliens in the 2009
film Avatar, this being triggers free spins when appearing 3 or more times on
the reels.

Blue eyed Alien Bonus

Featuring pure blue eyes and baring its teeth, this
extraterrestrial triggers the bonus round when landing 3 or more times.

Symbol Graphics

Aliens Z’s symbols feature realistic artwork that gives the aliens a movie
quality. The best detail can be seen in the blue eyed, grey, mantis, Avatar
like, and monster aliens.

Our only complaint in this department is that none of the characters have any
original symbols. With some of these aliens looking terrifying, it would’ve been
nice if 777igt added dynamic animations.

Aliens Z Slot Bonus Features

The best aspect of Aliens Z is that it offers free spins, a second screen
bonus, and three different jackpots. Here’s an in depth look at each of these
features.

Free Spins

When you land 3 or more Avatar like aliens anywhere on the reels, a voice
will announce that you’ve won free spins. You receive 15 free spins for 5
symbols, 10 for 4, and 5 for 3.

The reels automatically spin during this bonus, meaning you have no control
over the starting and stopping points.

You won’t hear any new music or see a different background during free spins,
which takes most of the fun away.

Bonus Round

When the bonus round is triggered with three or more blue eyed aliens, you’ll
be taken to a screen where a spaceship and two black holes await.

The goal is to choose the correct black hole that’ll pay you a prize.

If you select the right black hole, you’ll see gold coins spray up from the
bottom of the screen. Assuming you choose the wrong hole, you’re taken back to
the main game without a prize.

While this is a simple pick’em round, we like the way that 777igt blended the
theme with the bonus.

3 Jackpots

Like other 777igt slot machines, Aliens Z is linked to Major, Minor, and Mini
Jackpots.

777igt isn’t the first slots provider to offer three different jackpots in
one game. But they’re the only one we’ve seen that offers three huge progressive
prizes.

At the time of this writing, the Major Jackpot is worth $1,212,665, the Minor
Jackpot is worth $611,327, and the Mini Jackpot is worth $404,218.

As you can see, even the smallest jackpot is worth six figures, giving you
multiple ways to win a life changing sum of money.

Betting Options

You can play 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 pay lines.

The coin size can be changed from $0.01 to $1.20, with the latter being an
odd stopping point for the max bet.

This makes the minimum wager worth $0.10 per spin and the max worth $60.00.

Other Options

You can auto spin the reels for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or infinity spins. The
infinity option is nice for those who don’t want to worry about re starting auto
spin every few minutes.

One other option includes changing the volume with the speaker button in the
upper left hand corner. The speaker button has a sliding bar that offers you
greater control over the volume.

Win Frequency

We played Aliens Z for around 250 spins, and the win frequency was average
for a 50 pay line slot. While we won plenty of payouts with the letters and
numbers, we also had spells where we’d lose 4 5 spins in a row.

One thing that we were impressed with is the amount of scatter payouts you
receive. The grey alien gave us scatter payouts about once every 15 20 spins.

The free spins are also triggered frequently, which really adds to your win
total.

Playing all 50 lines, we ended up losing several dollars, which isn’t bad for
how many spin we played.

Game Rules

Alien Z’s rules are standard for a 5 reel slot machine, which you can see
below:

  • Payouts must form in active pay lines from left to right, starting with
    the leftmost reel.
  • The exception is the bonus and free spins symbols, which can trigger
rewards from anywhere on the reels.
  • Jackpots can only be won when 5 jackpot symbols land in an active pay
    line.
  • Wins are multiplied by the triggering line stake. Here’s an example: you
bet $0.10 per line and win a 100 coin payout, which would be worth $10.00.

Comparison to Other Alien themed Slot Machines

Aliens Z is one of many slot machines based on extraterrestrial life.

One game that we’ve compared it to is Aliens Ozone because they’re both made
by the same company. The other is WMSs Invaders from the Planet Moolah because
it has a totally different theme.

Aliens Ozone

While Aliens Ozone isn’t exactly the same as Aliens Z, you’ll notice
similarities immediately when you open this game.

First off, they feature similar pay line buttons and a dark background. But
we like Aliens Ozone’s background better since it looks cleaner.

The theme and music of Aliens Ozone carries an Alien vs. Predator feeling. In
fact, some of this game’s symbols are pulled directly from 20th Century Fox’s
Predator and Alien franchises.

We don’t give either game the edge in the theme department because they don’t
have quality animations to help sell the story.

The jackpots, free spins, and second screen bonus are the same between both
games.

Given the multiple similarities, what slot you find the best will depend on
if you want a general alien theme, or one that feels like an intergalactic
battle.

Invaders from the Planet Moolah

Many of us have seen alien movie scenes where outer space visitors land on a
nondescript farm. Invaders from the Planet Moolah takes this idea a step further
by having cows be the invaders.

At the top of the reels, you’ll see five cows in spaceships. Every time that
you form a payout, symbols from the winning combination are zapped by the cows,
allowing symbols to fall from above and take their place a.k.a. rolling reels.

WMS did an excellent job of incorporating the theme into the rolling reels
concept. They also created a more original theme than Aliens Z’s generic take on
aliens.

Symbols include a farm, hillbilly, cowgirl, grandpa, grandma, dog, trailer,
truck, chicken, mailbox, milk, and outhouse. The symbol graphics aren’t nearly
as good as what’s seen in Aliens Z.

The other weakness to Invaders from the Planet Moolah is that the only bonus
is free spins. While these weaknesses keep Invaders from being a great slot, we
put it on equal footing with Aliens Z due to its original concept.

Conclusion

If you want a straightforward alien slot, then this game should entertain you
for 20 30 minutes.

The symbols not only feature solid detail, but also embody common aliens
found in TV shows, movies, and UFO religions.

One thing we don’t get is why 777igt used the theme song from E.T the Extra
Terrestrial because it doesn’t fit this game. Nevertheless, the musical score is
pleasing to the ears and we never felt like muting it.

Downsides to this game include a lack of original animations and sound
effects. 777igt always fares bad in this category, so it’s little surprise that
Aliens Z also scores poorly here.

Ending on a positive note, we enjoy how often free spins and scatter payouts
are triggered. And you get the added excitement of playing for three jackpots
worth $400k or more.

In summary, Aliens Z doesn’t have a unique theme, nor does it feature the
animations and sound effects to stand out. But it does have good bonuses and
graphics, making it worth a few spins for those who are interested in aliens.
