Robo Slot Machine

Robo is 777igt’s game series that uses the advancements in technology
throughout the years as the theme of the games. Robo is the first in the series
and it takes the dark approach of the technological take over.

This game is set up in a Terminator style robot take over. Robo is packed
full of evil looking robots that make us wonder if technology is getting out of
control. This isn’t one of the best games that 777igt has produced but those who
are fans of this type of theme are sure to find it to be right up their alley.

As the first in the series it gives a good idea of how the rest of the game
plays out. Below we go through the game with a fine tooth comb and give you all
the good and the bad so you can decide if this game’s for you.

Robo Slot Machines Overview

Atmosphere / Background

Everything about this game is dark and the background and atmosphere help
build this dismal feel. The background is comprised of a mixture of black and
blues with hints of yellow light trying to break through.

A three headed robot can be seen in the background and it looks like it’s
trying to capture the reels with its limbs flailing around the reels. This part
of the background is a little hard to see and can cause you problems if you
focus on it too much while trying to figure out what’s back there.

The reels are framed in by rails similar to those found in erector sets or
that might be used to make robot parts. This works well with the theme and
incorporates the theme into the reels well. The operator buttons found below the
reels are in shiny red ovals which in our opinion don’t really go with the
theme, but adds a happier color to the color scheme.

The title is displayed across the top of the game in silver block lettering
between the jackpot placeholders.

Music and Sound Effects

The music that 777igt designers chose for the game isn’t over powering and
adds suspense to the game. The soundtrack sounds as though it would be heard in
a movie that showcased these types of rouge robots.

It isn’t a long track but does help build the feeling that we might be under
siege at any time. The one thing we don’t like about the music is the long delay
in replay. The track is short and when it’s completely played through there’s a
long stretch of time where there’s not sound other than the reels spinning.

The reels have the normal spin sound each time you spin. When a special
feature symbol lands on the reels you hear a notification sound until the reels
spin letting you know to watch for other matching symbols.

Animations

Animations didn’t play a huge roll in the development of this game. Each
symbol has a small animation attached to it that you see when it’s part of a
winning combination.

These animations can be small and don’t really go past the symbols pulsing or
bouncing when they make a win. Some of the special features have a little bit
more animation linked to them that the regular symbols don’t have.

When a special feature is triggered an announcer comes on to announce to the
world you just triggered the scatter, free spins, or bonus game. When you hear
the announcer’s voice a large banner also appears to echo his announcement.

When the bonus game is triggered you get whisked to a new screen. That’s
where the designers focused the majority of their animations skills. This game
is relatively hard to trigger so you might have to play for a while before you
get to experience these animations.

Robo Pay Table and Graphics

Symbols and payouts for Robo are as follows:

Jackpot Symbols

Lady with Robot eye

This pretty lady seems to have exceptional eye sight
with her robotic eye attachment. She is the highest paying symbol in the game.
When you get 5 of her on the reels at the same time you trigger the MEGA
jackpot.

Gas Mask

This symbol represents what we normal humans would have to wear
during this robot take over just to stay alive. When you get 5 of these
lifesaving masks on the reels at the same time you trigger the MINOR jackpot
which is a little smaller than the Mega but far from small.

Lady Robot with Fire Eyes

The lady robot doesn’t look to be overly
friendly. However, when you get 5 of her on the reels you might just claim her
as your new best friend. She triggers the smallest of the three available
jackpots but at over 40,000 its nothing to shake your head at.

Special Feature Symbols

Blue Eyeball

The wild symbol for this game is a beautiful blue eyeball. When
this symbol appears on the reels it can sub for any symbol except other feature
symbols like scatter, free spin, bonus, and jackpot symbols. When it’s subbing
for a symbol it chooses the highest paying symbol that can make a win. It also
gives a multiplier of 150 times when you get 5 of them on the reels.

Gold Robot Head

This robot is facing left and resembles another symbol in
the game. He is covered in different gears and is taking over someone’s face. He
pays 5 times for a combination of 3, 30 times for a combination of 4, and 100
times for a combination of 5.

Green Eyed Alien

When you see the green eyes of this robot you know you’re
on your way to getting some free money. Depending on how many times he shows up
on the reels you are awarded a different number of free spins. Free spins are
distributed as follows. For a combination of 3 you receive 5 spins, combination
of 4 you receive 10 spins, and for a combination of 5 you receive 15 spins.

Gold Robot Head with Horn

This creepy looking guy takes you to the mini
game when you get three or more of him on the reels.

Regular Game Symbols

Evil Robot

This symbol pays 12 times for a combination of 3, 40 times for a
combination of 4, and 200 times for a combination of 5.

Close up Gas Mask

This symbol pays 12 times for a combination of 3, 40 times
for a combination of 4, and 150 times for a combination of 5.

Storm Trooper

This symbol pays 12 times for a combination of 3, 30 times
for a combination of 4, and 120 times for a combination of 5.

A

The A stands for the Ace in poker. It pays 10 times for a combination of
3, 30 times for a combination of 4, and 100 times for a combination of 5.

K

The K stands for the king in poker. It pays 10 times for a combination of
3, 25 times for a combination of 4, and 80 times for a combination of 5.

Q

This symbol pays 10 times for a combination of 3, 25 times for a
combination of 4, and 60 times for a combination of 5

Symbol Graphics

The symbols designed for this game work well with the theme and bring a feel
of fear of what’s to come.

One thing about the symbols that we really didn’t like was the use of the
same type of symbol different places in the game. We found two that seem to be
replicated to be used and even though there are small changes it causes some
confusion during the game play.

The bonus and the scatter symbol are almost identical and the more we studied
the pay table the more convinced we were that it’s the same symbol just flipped
around. This really messes with you when you play the game because if you don’t
watch closely you think you’re triggering the bonus game when in reality you’re
triggering the scatter win.

Another example is the gas mask. This one might give people a little bit more
to complain about because one triggers a jackpot win while the other is just a
regular symbol with little pay out associated with it.

When a theme like this is being used there has to be plenty of symbols that
could’ve been used instead of making the game more confusing than it needs to be
by reusing symbols.

Robo Slot Extra Feature

One thing we can always count on with games designed by 777igt is that it has
all the special features we could ever want. From jackpots to bonus games they
never leave anything out.

The jackpots come in three different sizes.

Mega jackpot

The largest jackpot of the game is triggered by the lovely
lady with the robot eye attachment. When she appears 5 times on the reels you
trigger the biggest pay out available.

Minor jackpot

Another of the big pay outs for this game is the Minor jackpot
that’s gets triggered when you get 5 of the gas masks on the reels at the same
time.

Mini jackpot

The mini jackpot might be the smallest of the three but there
is nothing small about the amount of money you win if you’re lucky enough to
trigger this win. All you have to do is get 5 of the lady robot with the fire
eyes and you’re a big winner.

For some reason 777igt doesn’t give the wild the respect it deserves but we
aren’t complaining because at least they still have one. For this game they
chose a beautiful blue eyeball to be the symbol that can help you make wins no
matter where it lands. It subs for all regular symbols and if 5 of them appear
on the reels at the same time you get an extra multiplier of 150 times.

The wild isn’t the only symbol that triggers multipliers in this game. The
scatter symbol can add three different multipliers to your total depending on
how many you get on the reels. When you get three or more of the gold robot head
that’s facing to the right these multipliers are triggered and your wins go up.

The one symbol that’s easy to pick out when it appears on the reels is the
green eyed alien looking robot. When you see three or more of him you know
you’re about to get some free spins. Depending on how many times he appears you
can get 5, 10, or 15 free spins. These spins are automatic and can help build up
your money.

The second golden robot head symbol has a horn that appears to be coming out
of the center of the forehead. When this symbol appears on the reels watch out
because he triggers the bonus game. To trigger a trip to the mini game you have
to get three or more of these symbols on the reels at the same time.

When the game is triggered you’re taken to a new screen that resembles a
scientist workshop. You have to click on the clippers that are hanging in midair
and click on the robot to gather your winnings. One thing we can tell you is if
you’re playing with the auto spin feature and you trigger the bonus game you
better be fast about getting to the screen or the game gives you a small amount
of winnings just for triggering the game and you’re sent back to regular play
without getting to actually play the game at all.

Betting Options

With this game you have a whopping 100 pay lines available that give you more
chances to win than most other games. The pay lines for this game aren’t fixed
so you can pick and choose how many you want to play before you spin each time.

You have the ability to make the choice to play all 100 pay lines or to
decrease this number to what you want. You can decrease the pay lines being
played in increments of 10 until you reach the minimum set by the game. The
minimum is set at 10 with the max set at 100. If you make this change you need
to remember that the lower you go with the pay lines the bigger your chance a
missing out on wins is. When the game designers give you this kind of control
they want you to take advantage so you lose more than you win. Don’t let them
get you here just play all the lines and score all the wins you can.

This game has increments in the betting options that can vary from $.01 up to
the max bet per line of $1. This variation makes the game more accessible to all
slot fans.

Game Rules

Robo game rules are in line with most other 5 reel slot machines. Below are
the main rules:

  • Wins are paid from left to right.
  • When there are more than one wins on a pay line the highest payout is
    awarded.
  • Any misuse or malfunction aborts the game and everything is reset to
    default.
  • The wild doesn’t sub for scatter, free spin, bonus, or jackpot symbols.
  • Scatter symbols triggers a multiplier from anywhere on the reels.
  • Bonus game is triggered when three or more bonus symbols appear anywhere
    on the reels.
  • When the wild appears on the reels 5 times an additional multiplier is
    added to the win.
  • Jackpots can only be won when the designated symbol is found on the
    reels 5 times.

Conclusion

Robo isn’t one of our favorite 777igt games but it does have a lot to offer
anyone who likes this type of theme. Fans of movies such as Terminator and I
Robot will love this game and find the symbols intriguing and well designed.

If you’re not a fan of these types of films you can still find a great deal
to enjoy with this game. The atmosphere and soundtrack work well together to set
the feel for the game. The dark background and the suspenseful music bring the
uneasy feeling of what’s going to happen.

Will the robots win or can the humans come out on top?

The symbols though at times are a little confusing are well designed and
represent the theme of the game well. The only complaint we have here is the use
of a symbol that’s virtually the same as another one when there are plenty of
other options that could have been chosen instead.

The bonus game is a little bit of a letdown and since it doesn’t get
triggered often we were real disappointed when we finally did trigger it. Also
remember if you’re playing with the auto spin feature more than likely you won’t
actually get to play the mini game so we don’t recommend using auto spin for
this game.

All in all this game isn’t horrible; it just didn’t catch our interest much.
It’s worth giving a try even just to experience the feel of the robot take over.
